Location
Cardiff Bay is one of the UK's best watersports locations. The £220m Cardiff Bay Barrage has created a 200 hectare fresh-water lake which gives us the opportunity to 'get out there' in most weather conditions with full access to the Bristol Channel and the open sea.
In 2009 TBT re-located to the prestigious Cardiff Marine Village which brings some of South Wales' premier marine businesses to one purpose-built waterside location.
Meet the team
The team at Tiger Bay Training have a wide range of technical, training and interpersonal skills. Whether you race Zapcats or cruise at a more sedate pace, you can relax in the knowledge that you are being looked after by one of the best teams in the country.
Your Powerboat course will be run by Alan or Peter, both RYA instructors with many years of experience and a real enthusiasm for the sport, and Yachting courses are run by Rex and Julie, expert sailors and instructors with a wealth of experience gained in the Bristol Channel and beyond. Theory courses are run by Alan and Julie, Sue in the office and Ze the Portuguese Water Dog complete the team.

The Best Facilities - we have what we believe are the best maritime training facilities in South Wales, including a dedicated training room for up to eight delegates and a smaller office/training room for four, each equipped with a range of teaching aids and digital presentation equipment.
The Best Instructors - the expert team at TBT are a small group of full-time instructors renowned for their high level practical skills and calm, patient teaching manner. Our training style is a combination of informal group discussion, instructor presentation using up to date digital equipment and a good deal of hands-on practice.
If you book a course, you get a course - unlike many centres we do not cancel courses due to lack of numbers, so you can rest assured that (barring some major disaster) your course will go ahead as planned.
