welcome to the MARSEC PCO Course

 

 

 

 

The Maritime Security Powered Craft Operator course is a unique intensive 5 day program designed to equip MARSEC personnel and those looking to enter the MARSEC industry with an unsurpassed range of powered craft and first aid skills and qualifications.

 

Our five day program includes three days of powered craft handling on the water, 1 day of task specific First Aid training and the VHF/DSC Marine Radio qualification.

 

Course Modules 

 

  • RYA Powerboat Level II plus - two days covering boat handling and navigation skills to a very high standard in line with and beyond the RYA Level 2 Powerboat syllabus.
  • Advanced Powered Craft Operator - one day and some dark time working on advanced powerboat skills to include: fast boat pacing, inter-boat crew transfers underway, boarding whilst stationary and underway, fast boat handling in bad weather and poor visibility and fast boat navigation at night. Driving twin engine craft (>10m).
  • RYA  First Aid at Sea - one day covering First Aid skills specific to the marine environment including cold water immersion and drowning. 
  • VHF/DSC Marine Radio Operators Licence 

  

Qualifications Gained 

 

  • RYA Level II  Powerboat + Advanced Operator Module 
  • International Certificate of Competence (ICC) - Powered Craft  >10m 
  • VHF/DSC Marine Radio Operators Certificate 
  • RYA  First Aid at Sea
  • Emergency First Aid at Work (HSE Approved)

The course is taught by our expert team, headed by Chief Powerboat Instructor Alan Elworthy who has had the pleasure of working with many ex-military personnel who are currently working within the maritime security industry.

The next scheduled course will be running January/February 2012.  We can also run extra courses for groups of 4 or more persons.
